Last Updated:  January 31, 2025

Welcome to Tractor Supply Company. This Cookie Policy (“Policy”) describes how Tractor Supply Company and/or its affiliated and subsidiary companies, including Petsense, LLC (collectively "Tractor Supply,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and other tracking technologies when you interact with our websites, pages, features or content that links to this Policy, such as https://www.tractorsupply.com or https://www.petsense.com (the “Site(s)”), and any other websites, mobile applications, pages, features or content that links to this Policy (collectively, the “Service(s)”).

We encourage you read the full Cookie Policy to understand what cookies and other tracking technologies are, why we use them, as well as your choices or rights to control them. We will generally refer to cookies, web beacons, flash cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies collectively as “cookies” in this Policy.

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. If we do, the last updated date above will be revised. Where changes to this Policy will have a fundamental impact on the nature of the processing or otherwise have a substantial impact on you, we will give you sufficient advance notice by adding a prominent notice on our Site as required by applicable law so that you have the opportunity to exercise your rights. To make sure you stay informed of all changes, you should check this Policy periodically. If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please email us at privacy@tractorsupply.com.

1.         COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES WE USE

A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website places on your browser to store on your device to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information. Cookies work by assigning a number to the browser that has no meaning outside the assigned website.

Cookies can be stored on your computer for different periods of time. “Session cookies” only last for as long as the browser session and are deleted automatically once you close your browser. “Persistent cookies” cookies survive after your browser is closed until a defined expiration date set in the cookie (as determined by the party placing it) and help recognize your computer when you open your browser again.

So-called “first party cookies” are cookies which are served by the entity operating the domain through which the cookie is served. Our own cookies are therefore “first-party cookies”. In case we allow third parties to serve cookies through our Sites and Services, these cookies are called “third-party cookies”.

Other Tracking Technologies

Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track users of our Services. We may use other similar technologies from time to time. These technologies can include web beacons (also known as PIXELS, pixel tags, or clear gifs), Java scripts, or HTML 5 local storage.

Web beacons are tiny graphics files that enable us or our partners to recognize when someone has interacted with our Services, such as opening an e-mail that we have sent them. The use of web beacons (or similar technologies) allows us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users within our Sites, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Sites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve our online services, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.

Java scripts are code snippets embedded in various parts of websites and applications that facilitate a variety of operations including accelerating the refresh speed of certain functionality or monitoring usage of various online components.

HTML5 local storage allows data from websites to be stored or “cached” within your browser to store and retrieve data in HTML5 pages when the website is revisited.

We, our service providers and third-party partners we collaborate with, including ad networks, may use cross-device/cross-context tracking. For example, you might use multiple browsers on a single device, or use various devices (such as desktops, smartphones, and tablets), which can result in your having multiple accounts across these various contexts and devices. Cross-device/cross-context technology may be used to connect these various accounts and the corresponding data from the different contexts and devices.

2.         HOW WE USE THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Cookies and other tracking technologies help us recognize repeat users and allow us to track web usage behavior. Aggregated cookie data helps us enhance our products and services. For example, the data helps us learn which product is popular. Most importantly, cookies are used for the functionality of the website such as remembering your login status and user preferences. These cookies will enable us to customize the materials we provide to you based on your online interests and preferences. Cookies may also assist with our promotional and marketing efforts.

The following are some examples of information that we collect and how we may use it:

  • Recognizing you when you sign-in to use our Sites and Services. This allows us to provide you with recommendations, display personalized content, recognize you as a membership or ownership account holder, and provide other customized features and services.
  • Keeping track of your specified preferences.
  • Conducting research and diagnostics to improve content on our Sites and Services.
  • Preventing fraudulent activity and improving security.
  • Delivering content, including ads, relevant to your interests, and measure the effectiveness of the ads.
  • Measuring and analyzing the performance of our services.

3.         TYPES OF COOKIES AND HOW WE USE THEM

We use first-party and third-party cookies to recognize you as a Tractor Supply customer, to customize our content, to deliver advertising, to measure promotional effectiveness, and to collect device information to mitigate risk, help prevent fraud, and promote trust and safety.

We may place cookies from third-party partners to deliver content, including ads, that are relevant to your interests across your devices, based on how you interact with our advertisements or content. These third-party partners may also build a profile of your interests and to show you relevant ads on other sites. We do not control the types of information collected and stored by these third-party cookies. You should check the third-party's website for more information on how they use cookies.

We may use the following types of cookies on our Sites and Services:

  • Strictly Necessary Cookie. These cookies are required for the operation of Sites and Services. These cookies do not gather information about you for marketing purposes.
  • Functionality Cookies. These cookies are used to recognize you when you return to Sites and Services. They remember the choices you make (such as your username, or the region you are in) and the changes you make to text size, fonts and other features you can customize. While these cookies can be disabled, this may result in less functionality during your use of our Sites and Services.
  • Analytics/Performance Cookies. These cookies allow us and our analytics service providers/processors to count visits and traffic sources, or test new features, so that we can measure and improve the performance of our Sites and Services, including as part of our analytics practices to improve the content offered. They help us understand how visitors use our Sites and Services, which site or page the user came from, the number of each user’s visits and how long a user stays on the Sites and Services.
  • Analytics/Performance Cookies (Partner). These cookies allow our third-party analytics partners to track information about your usage of the Sites and Services (as defined in the Privacy Policy). These third-party analytics partners may obtain information about how visitors use our Sites and Services, which site or page the user came from, the number of each user’s visits and how long a user stays on the Sites and Services. These third-party analytics partners may use the information for their own purposes.
  • Targeting/Advertising Cookies. Targeting cookies may be set through our Sites and Services (as defined in the Privacy Policy), by our advertising partners to deliver content, including ads, that are relevant to your interests across your devices, based on how you interact with our advertisements or content. They may be used by our advertising partners to build a profile of your interests and to show you relevant ads on other sites. They do not store directly personal information but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
  • Social Media Cookies. These cookies are set by a range of social media partners that we add to the website. They are capable of tracking your browser across other sites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit.

4.         HOW TO MANAGE COOKIES

Your Privacy Choices/ Cookie Preference Settings.  To exercise your right to opt-out of sales and targeted advertising via cookies, please click the “Your Privacy Rights” link in the website footer and switch off the toggle for “Opt Out of Sale/Sharing/Targeted Advertising.” Please note that you may still receive generalized ads after opting out.  Your opt-out choice will only apply to your use of our Sites through the current browser or device you are using and only so long as that browser’s cookies are not erased.

Global Privacy Control.  If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Montana, New Hampshire, and Taxes, you may also opt-out of sharing and sales via cookies by using an opt-out preference signal. The Global Privacy Control signal is currently the only opt-out preference signal we can recognize. You can visit the Global Privacy Control official site at https://globalprivacycontrol.org/#about to learn how to configure your device to send such signals. We will honor and process the opt-out preference signal in a frictionless manner. Your opt-out choice will only apply to your use of our Sites through the current browser or device you are using and only so long as that browser’s cookies are not erased. You will need to submit a separate opt-out of sharing request on each device and browser you use to visit our Sites to completely opt-out using this method. Please note that you may still receive generalized ads after opting out.

Browser Controls.  Alternatively, you can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject cookies, you may still use our Sites although your access to some functionality and areas may be restricted. If you want to understand your browser’s cookie default setting, or learn to modify your browser’s cookie settings, please use the “Help,” “Tools” or “Edit” menu in your browser or review the instructions provided by the following browsers:

Mobile Devices.  When you use or access our Sites from a mobile device, we may collect information such as your unique device ID and your location. If you download and use an app, we and our service providers may track and collect app usage data, such as the date and time the app on your device accesses our servers and what information and files have been downloaded to the app based on your device number, as well as any other personal information specified by the app in its terms or notices.

Opting out of Third-Party Analytics.  We may use third-party service providers to monitor and analyze the use of our online, web-based, and mobile-based Services, such as Google Analytics. Google Analytics is an analytics service offered by Google LLC (“Google”) that tracks and reports website traffic. For more information on the privacy practices of Google, please visit the Google Privacy & Terms web page: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. To opt out of Google Analytics or to prevent your data from being collected and used by Google Analytics, please visit: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Do Not Track Signals.  Currently, we do not monitor or take any action with respect to Do Not Track signals or other mechanisms, which means that we collect information about your online activity both while you are using the Sites and after you leave our Sites.

Disabling Most Interest Based Advertising.

Interest Based Advertising - Website Browser. Many advertising companies that collect information for interest-based advertising are members of the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), both of which maintain websites where people can opt out of interest-based advertising from their members. To opt out of website interest-based advertising provided by each organization’s respective participating companies, visit the DAA’s opt-out portal available at http://optout.aboutads.info, or visit the NAI’s opt-out portal available at http://optout.networkadvertising.org/?c=1.

Interest Based Advertising – Mobile Application. When you use our app, we or our third-party marketing partners may use one or more of several different identifiers for your mobile device, including Apple Identifier For Advertising (IDFA) or Android Advertising ID (AAID), to target and deliver ads to you in our app or other apps. This means that your device identifier may be accessed by third-party ad networks and used to (a) help manage the number and types of ads you see; (b) track the source of installs related to ads seen in other apps; and (c) identify your interests and behavior and target advertising to you based on those interests and behavior.

·       Apple requires app developers to ask for permission before they can track your activity across apps or websites they do not own in order to target advertising to you, measure your actions due to advertising, or to share your information with data brokers. If you previously gave our mobile app permission to track, you can tell our app to stop tracking your activity. On iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings, tap on our app, then tap to turn off Allow Tracking. You can also reset your IDFA from your mobile device’s settings page, which will prevent continued use of existing behavioral data tied to your previous IDFA.

·       If you have an Android device, and are running Android 12 or above, you can delete your AAID permanently by opening Settings, navigating to Privacy > Ads, tapping “Delete advertising ID,” then tapping it again on the next page to confirm. This will prevent any app on your phone from accessing it in the future. Please note that if you do so, you will still see advertisements, but they will not be tailored to your inferred interests.

·       You may also access industry-provided opt-out tools, although they are not tailored to our mobile applications. For instance, to opt-out of data collection by the Digital Advertising Alliance’s participating member companies for interest-based advertising across mobile applications, download the DAA’s App Choices mobile application opt-out offering at https://youradchoices.com/appchoices.
